Bears coming at dark...need advice.

How can I get bears to come to my bait during shooting light? The site is getting hit almost every night for more than 2 weeks and the bear I have had the most pictures of shows up between 8:45pm and 10:00pm. The site gets baited 3 or 4 times a week, usually in the afternoon.

Bait in the morning and only enough for the day. Is this works if you have more than one bear hitting the bait. The smaller bears eat all the bait and the big bear learns to hit it during day light hours.

They're most likely sitting out there about 100 yards or so waiting for dark to come in. Move your stand out the trail away from the bait that far and be very still.

I have got about 2 weeks before the opener to see if he changes when he shows up, if not I may just take the hunt to him. Thanks Biggie.

Smaller portions. Especially if you think there is more than one bear. Compition will get them coming sooner to be first to the table.

If all else fails, you may want to consider the "buddy" system. Have a friend walk in with you and sit at the bottom of your tree for a half hour or so. 45 minutes before prime time, have your buddy get up and walk back out, making plenty of noise as he goes. Bears can't count, and if they are laid up nearby they may readily move in to the bait when they hear someone leaving. Sounds weird, I know, but I've seen it work many times.

Try to bait earlier and also right now the full moon has them changing there patterns of movement. Patience and hard work will prevail!!
