I just got back from Elk Hunting in Central Colorado for 7 days. The elk were a little antsy, rubs and wallows everywhere. The weather was dry and the elk were still in the high country going through their summer routine. A full moon kept the elk mostly nocturnal, but its getting smaller so I would be excited about that. I believe the peek rut will be approximitly the 15-20th. Thats just my opinion. We missed a 5 x 5 on day three. Better luck to you guys. Stay safe.

Good luck!!!!!!!!! We returned on Friday. We hunted the 31st thru the 9th.We saw elk everyday but one. They were really starting to come to cow calls on the last few days we hunted,so your hunt should be full of excitement.
I hunted unit 15 several years ago if you need any info.
