I'm not familiar with that bow, but it sounds high to me.  If it's a straight grip, 6 1/2 to 7 inches would be more appropriate; pistol grip, maybe 7 1/2.

I shoot a 64" Crow Creek longbow 48# at 29" and my brace height is 6 5/8". Works the best on my bow.

I believe that the Verna is a R/D longbow, and I'd be looking at about 7 1/2" to start with.

Generally, brace height for most longbows fall in the range of 6 1/2 to 7 3/4" on the high end. Recurve bows brace higher in the 7 1/2 to 8 5/8"  range. I've never heard of a longbow bracing in the mid 8"s.

Whoa my brace height is WAY too high then...  :scared:

hi guy's, i've got my brace height down to 8", but there's very little scope to go much lower, as there's hardly any twist left on the string!!
is 8" ok?.

I remember an ad for the verna a while back that said: with 6" brace it will reach speed of over 180fps @ 50#& 28": so you can start at 6" if you've a mind to. but sounds like you better get a longer string.
