arrow for zipper? HELP!!
« on: September 19, 2009, 10:49:00 PM »
I just traded for a older model zipper that is supposed to be 60# at 28" with a B-50 string and I pull a full 28.5" maybe just a little more! there is no number's on this bow that I've found and have not checked the weight on a scale so I'm going with what I know! I would like some suggestions for some aluminum shafts! I tryed 2117's with no luck! with all the knowledge on here I should be able to get started in the right direction! Thank's Jason

I know nothing about aluminum but AD trad carbons would definately work out of that set up.For wood prob 70/75 spine.

Hey jason, were the 2117's to weak or to stiff? That should be a good choice for that weight. What weight point do you shoot?

Steve, got the strings, there great! I think I got the top limb lined out!! I think the 2117's are to weak! I thought they would work out great but they do alot of fishtailing especially with a BH I'm shooting 125grn points and I tryed 150grn with no luck there either! I'm going to get with my Amish friend and shoot several arrows to see what will work!! SILVERTIP COME QUICK!!!   :biglaugh:  Jason

Well, I went out to the garage and shot a little at close range, 10 feet, I was getting consistant nock high, moved my nock point to 5/8, helped on field points but still getting nock high on 125 snuffers! are the 2117's to stiff if I have to keep moving my nock point up? Jason

Just from my experiance,If shooting split finger try a 5/16in nock hieght with cockfeather in.
I used to fight finding the correct NP on every bow I owned till I tried this. I know , I know...it seems way too low. That's what I thought too, but it works for me on all my bows.

I agree with Billy! 2018's should work fine, the 2117's are probably a little stiff unless your shooting a heavy field pt or broadhead. Shooting a b-50 string you might be able to get away with shooting a 2016 and a 125 gr head.
