I bought a Black Bear recurve for my daughter for Christmas. It shoots so fine, I just had to have one. My daughter assured me it was not going to be that one (she loves it!).
I finally found one: 60", 45# @28, black glass belly and back with a maple riser. When I got it, there was a huge rope of a string on it (continuous loop) and a flipper rest. It shot ok, but I like the arrow closer to my hand, so the flipper came off and I put leather on the rest. I twisted up a ten strand B50 flemish string, added some yarn puffs and tried her out. Wow! From 10 to 25 yards the arrows just seem to want to go where I am looking. These are the quietest recurves I have ever seen. The slim grip really fits my short fingers.
They were made from 1972 to 1978. It has a few scrapes, but overall it's in great shape and kinda purty. If these pics work out you can see for yourself.
