Lookin to hunt hogs with my dad...
« on: September 20, 2009, 09:35:00 PM »
My dad and I have always talked about doing something special when I graduated high school. Well I did it this spring and my summer went on like any other summer would, I worked full time with little hunting or fishing.   :knothead:
We still have a trip to plan and it's gotta be soon because I leave for Marine Corps Recruit Training in January.

I'm wondering if there is anyone who knows good place to do some hog hunting. We are on kind of a tight budget so no huge ranch deals. Just something simple, a place where we can spend time together, have fun, and get a good crack at some tasty hogs   :bigsmyl:

Your suggestions and info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Zack

Hey Zack, no hogs in WA but I wanted to say that your service is appreciated and I hope you really enjoy your time in the military.

Nobody knows a good place to hunt hogs?

Even a DIY hunt on public land would work, I just need someone to point me in the right direction.

Hogs are a nuisance in the South. E-mail me & I'll tell you what I know. Temporary license on public land may be a good option. Likely $100 total. Thanks for your Service partner!

I have heard from family and friends that Hogs are becoming aproblem in Midland Isabella and Gladwin counties a call to the DNR might get more info- I dont think there is a closed season on them in MI, If that wont work take a 10 hour drive to North Georgia, there are several good public land WMAs to hunt on that have hogs. 3 day licences will run just under $100 And chasing mountain hogs will get you in shape for boot camp. Search the forums here or us or just google -GA WMA hogs and you can find several helpful articles -good hunting

Well, I've got "big ranch" and small ranch deals. The big ranch deal right now is $100 per day and includes two javelina and unlimited hogs. Check the "Gone Crazy-javelina" thread. Otherwise, I do small ranch hunts starting in March. $150 daily on those ranches. I think I can help. CK
