I've always shot cock feather up. Really just so I can tell with a glance that my arrow is loaded correctly in the bow. Just a habit when I build arrows...

Black Widow recommends it and I have some Bitz nock receivers for fletching that way. One of these days I'm gonna have to try it out.

I do when I shoot RW feathers,it gave me the best clearence being a RH shooter.I used to fletch with a TM nock reciever that fletches cock feather up or down.I did this on wood arrows where the nock was set by the grain of the wood. But on carbons with tunable nocks I just rotate for the best clearence.

Mine shoots no matter what the orientation. Take one of those tunable nock arrows and twist that baby to every spot and the arrow will fly.
I'm no sure why feathers "wear" unless you have a stiff arrow that wants to drag across the riser.

I have started shooting cock feather up with left wing feathers and like the way the arrow shoots. I have also shot cock feather out and in and like up better on most of my bows.

I shoot cock feather in on left wing helical and cock feather out on right wing helical. Can't give you a good reason but it works for me.

I shoot right wing feathers so have always shot cock feather up.My bows are tuned however so they will shoot anyway I stick them on the string just fine.

I switched to 4 4" fletched and it doesn't matter which way I nock them...they shoot great and are quieter.

I always shoot cock feather up--flies better off the shelf, IMHO. Widow recommends it but it works better on any bow I've shot it out of. Simplifies tuning.
