Anybody else read the...

newspaper or ads that come as packing when we get something in the mail? After opening and removing what I have bought or traded for I cant wait to unravel the packing papers and see what I have. Its pretty cool to see what the prices are for stuff in other parts of the country. I always try to use our classified ads for packing. Hopefully, I'm not crazy and the only one who does this :D .....Roy

Yes, I do. It gives a good snap shot on other areas and how the economy and day to day life is for other folks. SO... at least two loons at tradgang.com.

Ha I just did that the other day. I think it's interesting just to read what's going on in another part of the country.

I must admit that I don't read them when they come to me but I do put some thought into the ones I use to pack my stuff with when I ship. Good to know that guys on the other end appreciate it!!

Me too jcar315. I like to send destination appropriate packing material. For instance, Boston gets lots of Indy Colts articles. Big ten areas get Hoosiers stuff. East coasters get the Business section and left coasters get articles on pillows and drapes
One of my favorite things is related. When we used to decorate my grandma's house for Christmas, I loved going through the really old newspapers used to cushion the decorations.

Well, I think you blokes are all mad, being as you live in the USA. But I've got an excuse, and it's that I'm from another country, so reading those packing papers is a cultural experience.

Cultural for we mad Americans, too. I live in an urbanized area, and love to read the small-town stuff. The business section would not get a second glance, nor would the sports, but sometimes I luck out and get a crossword puzzle or the comics (I never get to read a paper around here) or the local want-ads from some place where "gun" is not a dirty word. The country is vast and varied, and I wanna see how the other folks live.

I usually use the little weekly paper from our small town and not the "big" local daily paper. Lots of cool real "small town" stuff.

Hey Roy, same here! I'm also crazy for the papers! So I need something to read from some place else. So if you have some old arrows or a bow, just send it my way and don't forget the Sunday Ads! Coupons too! Good shootin, Steve

I may be able to fire my shrink!
I thought it was just me. Glad to know I'm not the only one who reads papers from other parts of the country!
When my mom and dad passed away several years ago, my brother and sister and I had a great time going through a bunch of old newspapers they had things packed in, what a history lesson!
Miami Herald from 1969!
I have the front page from the first moon landing!
I had it custom framed.
(I'll admit I really get depressed looking at the old liquor and appliance prices though)
