IN.Tradgangers Thank's for the help..My bow is comming home!!
« on: October 05, 2009, 09:26:00 PM »
I'm hoping some of you from IN. can help me.  I just got a call from the police dept. in Otterbein Ind. and they have succesfully recovered a 1 piece Great Plains "Red River" recurve that I sold thru the classifieds here on TG but was never paid for. [Sold in July].

My problem is, he told me the bow was still strung and he [the policeman] does not know how to unstring it safely and with out dammagee to the bow.  The other problem is getting it packaged and sent back. [ I live out here in Washington]  I'm hoping to find someone who lives near there that can assist me in it's return.....I'll happily reimburse all shipping and ins. costs.

If you think you might be willing to assist me please call me at 360-263-7974 or verizon cell 360-989-6355.  I can give you ph. number and contact name for the police and my address.

Thanks for any help    :help:

let me know if Terry can't get there for some reason- I'm ~1 hour away in Covington.

I could slide up there- but it would be Thursday afternoon after my 3 yr old's preschool field trip.  I know 15 3 yr olds- kinda like herdin' cats!

Thanks to all for your gracious offers.  However, Terry called me this morning and has my bow in his possesion and will be mailing it home soon.

As a note of caution, and so I don't up-set any one living in the area of Otterbein IN. The person I had the "Deal" with was Allan Ferguson who went by "Trad Fergie".  He has since this started, been banned by Trad Gang.  Since this all started I have been notified by others including Dick Robertson, that they too had been "Burned" by Allan.

Again, I want to thank my "Brothers here on TG, and the Otterbein Police, in the recovery and return of my bow.  Thanks too, to the Mods. here on TG for stopping Allan from doing this to more of us by Banning him from this great site.   :readit:

Man I'm glad you got your bow back. People like this need a good ol' fashion butt whipping plus some jail time to think about it. As always the vast majority of folks on this site will help in any way they can. Great to be associated with such a fine group of folks.

I had heard that about Allan on other bows L.E.  It's weird, I bought a longbow off him years ago and he sent the bow before I even had a chance to send the payment.

Anyway, glad you're getting your bow back.  Nice job Terry!

I don't normally post over here, but a friend of mine brought this thread to my attention.  I thought I would add a bit so that everyone knows this guy is a thief.

Allen Ferguson has not only robbed people of money on bow purchases, but he also stole money from the Indiana Bowhunter Association.  Long story there, but the man is a crook.  He has ran his bow selling scam on the *********** also, not to mention he owes Rick Ostrem of Mahaska bows for a bow that Rick let him take home after a javelina hunt.  If I remember correctly, Ferguson sold the same osage orange Black Widow bow on the *********** twice, failing to deliver it to either of the buyers.

I would love to see everyone that has been scammed by him get together, gather their evidence and press charges.

Might have something to do with the fact you live in Indiana.  Most of the people he's taken are from out of state, as far as I know.  Except for the IBA, of course.  Unfortunately, it would have cost us more in legal fees and costs than what he owes us ($500).
