Bear Hunting Quebec
« on: October 11, 2009, 12:49:00 PM »
I would like to try spring bear hunting. Unfortunately we are unable to hunt spring bear in Ontario so the closest place for me would be Quebec. Anybody recommend  any outfitters that you have recently hunted with? Any information would be appreciated.  :)

Yep, your search is short.  Get ahold of Tom Phillips and get on the list.  Last I saw there were still openings, and you won't find a better bear hunt. Check out the thread on Bear Quest openings.

Another vote for TP. Honest hard working guy that runs a great camp.

Lefty Phillips. If I hunt bear in Quebec it will be with Tom as long as he'll have me. Reasons are too numerous to list. This will be the third in what I hope is a string of many years.  Grant

I've hunted with Ron Henry out of Fort Colounge across the river from Pembroke. I don't know Tom Phillips or his operation so I have no opinion, however I'm going up to Ron's for my 5th trip this coming spring. My best bear was 400 dressed and 20" 12/16ths and I've seen bigger. He is a bow only camp and his cost is $750 U.S. you feed yourself.

I guided bear hunters in Michigan for 6 years and have hunted them for 20+ I've been there and done that and Ron Henry's is the best for the money that I know of.

If you want more info email me.

Long as I can pull this bow
Long as I can hike the hills and walk among the trees
I keep on trying
My goals are high but I don't care
The fun is in the getting there, it justifies the end
So try, try again

Thanks for the info guys. Ron Henry and Tom Phillips seem to be the choices. Some one on another site mentioned that he frequently hunted with Ron Henry.   :)
