bow length / user friendly
« on: October 15, 2009, 05:40:00 AM »
I have purchased several bows over the years, but my number 1 bow was the checkmate firebird at 56 inches in length

I was shooting the other day and took my first bow out to put on a new string ( Martin Hunter 62 inch length )

I got the string on and got the brace height, shot a few arrows indoor and then went outside to shoot some arrows at both a bag target and some 3D targets I have.

I could not believe how good the bow shot, was it due to the bow length that made it seem to group so much better or just luck.... MY actual draw is 28 1/2 inch and the arrow are cut to 29 1/2 inch.

For the same reason, my 68" ChekMate Crusader has not left my home.  Since getting it, I have included a 62" recurve, 56" LB & a 64" LB.  Something about that bow just makes it fun.

P.S. - like seeing someone from the "City of the Hills".  I was an O-State Red Dragon (hoops) from 1985-1989.
