Homemade or purchased? Something I've been interested in. Just wondering what I might want to look at. Thanks, G.

Ghil Leaf from Cabelas. Really breaks up your shape. I shoot a recurve or longbow and had to cut some leaves off your bow hand arm.

I bought this kit
http://www.sniperghillies.com/products/Ghillie_Kit_Mossy_Synthetic-7081-17.html
And have been impressed. I wore it this weekend when I got my Texas doe.

Mine is purchased from Miles Tactical,
www.theghilliesuits.com
It is synthetic string instead of burlap.
Mine is a two piece suit but I recommend the "long coat" or poncho style
My pants hang on evey limb, twig, thorn, etc..and make walking/stalking almost impossible.
Mine is the ultralight but it is still hot as heck.

These things seem kinda expensive. Maybe I can find a used one somewhere. Kinda like spine testers. It sure seems like alot more people would own one if they weren't so overpriced. A place to set an arrow, a weight, and a guage/chart. Or in this case, a bunch of scrap like material sewn together. I might look at the kits. Thanks guys, G.

Home made, Get a set of army surplus coveralls or a long jacket at army surplus store. Get some old camo nettting. Same place. Go to a feed store and pick up some burlap sacks and dye them with RIT dye. Then just sew the netting on the jacket or upper portion of the coveralls. Then tie on the burlap - mix colors to match the environment. I spent more than a few years running around the world with the Army and this is how we made them. Cheap simple and easy enough. Plus you get the pleasure of hunting with something you made.

Schleprock, not that hard to make. But a time consuming process. Go easy with the rit, you can get the burlap really dark in a hurry.

I made mine over 20 years ago.I know weight isn't a problem now but when they first came out.Acouple of my friends got the burlap one and if they got wet they were heavy.
I got a dipping net 1 inch mesh made a long coat with a hood.Went to a sporting goods store and got a few different kinds of light wieght blind materal.Cut it into different size and leanth strips. And tied them on.Replace when you need to.
I was amazed been useing it ever sence.Turkeys,deer,squrrils.I've made an ASAT about 10 years ago it's unbelievable in the corn and old hay fields when the wind blows.I've touched a doe with my bow in the corn.Shot 5 bucks under 10 yards in the corn with my bow.Along with quite a few off the ground under 15 yards.Had a turkey hen peck inchs from my head while crawing up to a gobbler.
