Arrow Selection
« on: October 27, 2009, 03:48:00 PM »
Hello everyone, I am a NOOB to traditional, expanding from compounds, I need help with my first arrows. I have an old longbow, cut 3/16 from center, 64" AMO, 51# @ 28" and I draw 29". I have my brace height set at 7.5". I would like to have carbon arrows which I am considering using Goldtip 3555,full length, 50 -100 gr brass inserts, 125 -150 gr points, footed with 1.5" aluminum 2117 arrow shaft. 3-5" left wing shield cut feathers. Does the spine (.500) sound right. Am I in the ballpark. I really appreciate your help and guidance. Thanks  Willis

That sounds right on the money to me, in fact that is what I shoot, full length 3555, 100 grn brass insert and 125 point.  My bows are 53@28.
