Got my new bow!!!!
« on: October 30, 2009, 10:17:00 AM »
Hey everyone!! Got my new bow!!! She isn't pretty but she throws an arrow true. I was talking to an old friend of mine about my frustrations lately with my archery. He says " come over to my place after work..bring your bow" Anyway I get there we shoot. He says " come here a min" He takes me back to the Treasure closet and out comes this bow! He says " try this one" I do and my god!! I'm cured!! Luckily my old setup arrows fly well out of this bow. I went from my old setup I've been shooting with a short bow with groups the size of plates at 25yds with the occasional baseball sized group. To baseball sized groups with arrows slappin and 1 robin hood!!! I actually have to aim a different parts of the target from shot to shot...big deal for me!! This bow I can just shoot in a form that's comfortable. My little bow to get get it to shoot decent was complicated..( hold it straight up & down, arch wrist like this, put thumb pressure here..etc.etc..) Anyway after my buddy saw the way I was shooting it he tells me to keep it. " This bow was made for you" he says. How cool!!
Anyway, can any of ya tell me what kind of bow this is from the pics? Thanks a bunch.

I don't know what the bow is  but I really like the way you tell the story.  When a bow fits life is good. I wonder how many potentially fine archers leave trad archery because of ill fitting bows and mismatched arrows?  Joe

I can't tell the glass color but it looks like a 1957 Bear Kodiak. If the glass is white,it could be a '58.Either way,it's a gem.

Man, you send that to the Real Bow Doc and your bow will not only shoot great but, will look great again. Congrats on a great find.   :clapper:
