I have to make a decision on my Shrew in about four weeks. I know I'm getting a Chameleon, 48@26 and carbon/foam limbs. I'm torn however between a 58" Super Shrew and a 54" Classic Hunter. For you guys that have shot both, would I be giving up anything in the forgiveness department with the Classic Hunter?

I have a 58" Super Shrew Deluxe that I pull to 27".  Shot a Classic Hunter at KaZoo and I couldn't see any negatives to the shorter bow.  If I were to order another, I believe I'd go with the Classic Hunter for a shorter, more maneuverable bow.

The Classic Hunter (56") is just one incredible bow.  It was the only bow Ron/Gregg was comfortable with being pulled 32"+.  Bow is silky smooth, and just a joy to shoot.  Can't go wrong with it.

Mark,

The Classic comes in 52", 54", and 56".  For your 26" draw, the 54" is plenty long.

I just received a 56" classic hunter yesterday and i've allways shot 66" longbows.  I was scared i would not like the shorter bow and wondered if i could shoot it as good as the longer bows.I walked out the house in the rain and my first arrow went where i was looking! Now that i've been shooting it a bunch in the last day i cant tell im shooting a short bow.It's pretty fast and it makes no noise.There is a couple of things i have notices about it. I will be able to hunt on the ground a whole lot easer and it does not give me problems shooting it out of my climbing stand.
It was worth the wait!!!!

I have several Classic Hunters and a Super Shrew and definitely prefer the Classic Hunter (CH) for most hunting situations. They are both great bows. I have a 29 1/2" draw and the 54" length in a CH is fine for me. I have about an equal number of 54" and 56" CHs. With my longer draw length, a 56" CH is slightly smoother, but you wouldn't notice the difference since you only have a 26" draw. You could probably shoot a 52" with no problem if you wanted to, but why push it? You are going to love the short length and great handling of the CH.
