Help a newbie out
« on: November 06, 2009, 11:23:00 AM »
Hello, I hope this is not so far off topic as to require deleting.
I am in need of information on the history of bowhunting in Mi. Obviously it started with traditional equipment thus the post here.  I have an essay due for college and would appreciate any feedback. Feel free to email me if necessary.

I just started shooting a long bow this year. I haven't had the right opportunity to take a deer yet but I am patient. And will post phots when I do.

Thank you for any help.

Corn Stalker  not meaning to be anything but helpful here,  but..  go to the forum home,  then scroll down to Fred Bear, and read up on his adventures.  Michigan has a lot of history and he is in a lot of it.

ChuckC, Thanks
No offense taken. I am well aware of Fred Bear's History. I was just trying to dig a little deeper. Ie. First deer taken during 1937 w/ bow (William Vanvorst) Fred Bear took one in 1936 during the firearms season. I will look it up thanks. I hope that doesn't come across wrong.

Zradix, Thanks as well.

I will dig a little deeper.

I would look into or include the Native Americans background that inhabited our state.
Just one more step please!
