armguard question

I'm sure those of you who live in the northern areas have experienced my problem.  When the cold arrives, we dress accordingly.  This includes layering and bulky clothes.  How do you avoid having the string contact the chest bulk or the fluffy cloth which seems to gather on the inside of the bowarm above the armguard.  Errant arrow flite happens at the worst times.

I just use a couple of those 1/4" rubberbands. A short velcro strap or two would also work.  They don't need to be tight just snug enough to hold the bulk back.  Then practice a little to get the right combination.

I wear a leather arm guard on my forearm.  Then I'll take a tan sock and cut the toe out and slide it over my coat from elbow to shoulder.  Does a good job at keeping the bulk out of the way.

Tom, Check out the tick gaitors made to go on your boot top to keep out ticks. I got mine from Macs Prarie Wings. Been wearing one on my bicep for about 5 yrs now.

I cut the sleeve of an old long sleeve black t-shirt and sewn the top to the shoulder in three places on the bow arm of my coat it helps keep the bulk compressed.

If my clothes are too loose (which rarely happens), I have a black archery chest protector that I wear or a tight fitting vest.

I actually bought a sock that says "Realtree" on it that goes up past the elbow and works well. My friend Tippit uses his wives' cut-off pantyhose. I'd prefer that but I couldn't bring myself to ask her for a pair!        

Gotta get a new girlfriend just for that!    :D
