What's going on on the History and collector's Forum
« on: November 05, 2009, 09:46:00 AM »
Hey guys; Can someone tell me what's happening on the History and Collector's forum? I tried to check in and was told it was a closed forum that required a password. First I heard of that.   Grant

Sure you clicked the right one?
Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Grant, you'll need to talk to Terry and Rob...serious issues with folks on that forum not following the appropriate Tradgang guidelines.

I can’t access either. Here is what it says:

You are attempting to enter a private forum for which you do not have explicit permission to gain access. This forum also permits entrance by password, however. If you know the password for this private forum, please enter it below.

I really hope it’s just a glitch.

Yep....and that was the problem....folks just keeping on and keeping on.

Don't email me about it...don't post about it...cause I aint in the right frame of mind about it.  The forum is gone...end of story.

BTW....for those that don't know, this is the 2nd time this forum has been shut down, the 1st time was about 3 years ago.

We also shut down the classifieds once as it got way out of hand.  We brought it back separated in catagories and everything went smooth.

Not sure what we'll do about this 2nd time around...but if anyone has a question in the meantime about how old a bow is or a history question that pertains to bowhunting, feel free to post it here on the PowWow.

Sorry for any confusion.

Well...a few folks 'went off' over this and that's a shame.  Why folks fall on their sword is beyond me.  Must be the blight of the internet talk forums.  Heck if I know.

However, I'd like to THANK those that actually emailed me that they would like to HELP moderate that forum and keep it on track.  They all said they hated to see it go and offered to assist.  Much appreciated gentlemen.

We'll chat about it and sort it out....and bring it back with a different format and modators so it wont get out of hand again....after the rut.    ;)

Sorry for my direct post above....I should have taken care of the problem earlier, I just had enough and dropped the hammer.  Like Pop Eye use to say, 'I've stood all I can stands, and I can't stands no more'.

Now, everyone get out there and hunt this weekend....unless your kids have something more important to do.....then don't miss that.

Falk...it was a request, not a rule.

And more important, making demands like that will get you nowhere but elsewhere, that's 'where it leads'.

Wonder how you would feel if I came in your house and started making demands?  I bet I can guess.

Geezzz, .....I'll never understand why folks do this to themselves.       :(
