Rut on, Buckie time is here.
« on: November 06, 2009, 01:48:00 PM »
With the rut starting how many of us are using home made decoys like Buckie ?

This is Buckies 4th year, with 3 kills under his belt so far.
It has been the best 3 dollars I ever spent.

I'd shoot the decoy......lol.
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Awesome homemade decoy.
Ive never used decoys, but the vids Ive seen of them being used are fun and exciting. Ill bet you have a great time with "Buckie"

I also think that since these simple decoys work as well as they do are a testament to the fact that when it comes to fooling a whitetails vision...Form, pattern, and movement are far more important than fine detail.

This is funny Pete but I was just thinking of Bucky the other day. I couldn't remember Who created him.

Thanks for posting. Could You give a rough estimate of how wide and tall Bucky is? Thanks

Here's my Bucky. I copied Pete's idea a few years ago. Mine is made with old political signs, duct tape and spray paint. I also used removable antlers and her name is Flossy.

I used the wire frame that came with the political signs.
