Jerzey Boys or Girls get any deer down Yet?
« on: November 06, 2009, 04:36:00 PM »
Been seeing some thread about other States get deer on the ground and would like to know if anyone from Jerzey downed any deer yet.. Come on, I know someone arrowed a deer or 2 since I moved.

Wish I could say I did.

But on a good note...I drew my bow today for the first time since before my last operation. Hell, I think the last time I shot was with you before you moved.

Got it back to full draw 3 times today without any problems. Now I need to spend some time shooting to get back in the game.

Maybe I'll be able to get out with the LB in the late season - after I fill the freezer with the flinter.

Well,I went out four times due to work and wife in college and saw three deer and had no shots but I enjoyed the quit time. After all it is Jerzey what did you expect. We have to work overtime to afford the price of all the permits and buck stubs...LOL

I killed two with the compound the first two saturdays of the season then decided it was time to make the switch so here i am on tradgang! I have killed about 100+ deer with compound over the past 30 odd years and after tagging two right off this year decided i need more of a challenge so it was back to my roots shooting stick and string instinctive. As of yet no opportunities with trad gear but we still have a month left and then a month of winter bow so ya never know
And in the end when i can no longer draw the bow or watch the arrow embark on its flight;when i posses only the spirit of the hunter, i will hunt.... if only in my dreams... because the hunt is born amidst my soul, and i... i am the hunter

Shot a doe in the early season.  Was on vacation last week.  Pretty awesome weather.  I probably saw around 50 deer, with 15-20 being different buck.  I saw 4 buck today.  Had a beautiful, wide, tall 9-point under my stand 6 yards away just before dark tonight.  The **** wizard stopped right before my shooting lane and turned around and made a semicircle around me before heading out.  I thought he might come into another shooting lane, so I didn't try to call him back.  I'm not very good at the deer talk, anyway. Hope things are going well for you, Sal.
