CheckMate Falcon recurves

I'd love to hear some opinions on these recurves. I'm new to trad hunting, and they are based in Mississippi where I can go and look/try some of their stuff. I would rather pay a little extra for my first bow, if it meant it was a "fit" for me. Is this a good bow for a neophyte? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. This site has been a wonderful blessing for someone who knows nothing about traditional archery. I'll be picking some brains on here once I finally settle on a bow.

Check mates are made in British Columbia Canada, On Vancouver Island.
They are available from many dealers across Canada and the US.
These are a good solid bow with a long life reputation, and many loyal customers.

I have had a couple of Checkmate bows and they have been solid, well built and great shooting bows. The fit and finish are excellent,I still have and shoot my Checkmate Crusader longbow.Whether it is a fit for you, only you can say.I not sure where you can try one, that would be nice if you can shoot one for yourself.Everyone one is different in what they like or fits them,I'm a longbow fan and like and prefer to shoot longbows.

I have a Falcon Special that I bought off the classifieds. I love it. I still haven't taken a deer with it, but its not the bows fault. The fit and finish are great. I am looking into a takedown version from Chekmate.

I'm guessing you are referring to my site,
www.recurves.com
. I am based in MS, but I'm not the bowyer. I'm not far from Tupelo--any time you want to come by just let me know and I'll give you directions. I don't normally have much on hand, but you are welcome to shoot any bow I have and I can round up a few from friends that shoot them also.
They are excellent bows--I shot them for several years before I became a dealer.

I "own" a Super Falcon. I have own in quotaions, because I lent it to a buddy trying to get him into trad. He could use it as long as he shot it..that was three years ago, and he still soots it. He actually called me and asked me to get him more arrows.....the 18 I lent to him are about done. LOL.
Great bows...
