Have any of you taken a wooden longbow or flatbow with a broken tip cut it down and re-worked both ends?

I have done that successfully-no problem. You may need to re tiller-an inch off each end equals about 10# more. Cut as little as possible-you can't put it back. Depending on how much you have to cut and if it is upper or lower just do the broken end and see how it goes. Get this moved to the Bowyer's Bench for really good advice.
