I used the G5 100 grain heads this year on my wheel bow. killed a good bull elk in NM and a good 10 pt whitetail in ILL. The kills were quick but not good blood trails. i tried both the sharpeners that G5 sells and i cannot get them sharp. My opinion very tough and good arrow flight but hard to sharpen & poor blood trails.

As I understand it these heads are "poured" or molded in some manner. When that is done it changes the molecular qualities in the steel making a good edge hard to obtain and harder to maintain. Has something to do with the grain of the metal. I've been told by those who know metals to stick with the standard models or the newer machined ones if you are interested in an edge that will be easier to get and maintain.
