Noise from bow quivers?
« on: November 23, 2009, 07:52:00 AM »
When I started bow hunting with compounds I had a quikee quiver I put on the bow.  I found that it added a lot to the bow noise from the arrows vibrating at the shot.  I am thinking of trying a bow quiver for my recurve, as I am tired of trying to work the back quiver when I carry my climber into areas.  Do you find that bow quiver create the same kind of vibration on your bow?
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

if set up and loaded correctly, a bow quiver on a stickbow will not generate noise.

I know there are several out there guys really like, but I'd recommend an Eagle's Flight quiver to you.  He is on the Sponsor's List here. Since I shoot large broadhead, I chose  the "Chief," the largest style he makes he makes, in a five-arrow configuration.  It is PERFECT for what I wanted.

I love this quiver and the way to attaches to the bow.  It is dead-silent, and very easy to take off and on.  Well-built and well designed, I think this would do a great job for you.

Best wishes in your search!

I have a eagle flight quiver on all my bows and i leave them on there when i hunt. I swear it makes my bow quiter and more stable. Get one and i bet you will love it. I use to always take my quivers off my bow when i was hunting but not any more, trust me on this one.

I like the Great Northern quiver, esp. if you can use the one made for TD bows. It is light and stable, and thus quiet. And you can easily remove it if you want to,when on stand. For that matter, the strap-on can be removed too, but I didn't think iot was as stable.

I think you had your experience with the worst quiver I ever used. Quicki Quivers are loud, loose, and allow the arrows to bend too much.

Try a Kanati quiver, it will make your bow quieter!

Yea i had a the Quicki Quiver inserts put on my Black Widow because i thought i would never want to shoot a bow with the quiver on it. Then i bought a Eagle Flights quiver to go on my Morrison ILF and i can shoot it better with the quiver on.

Thanks.  I am looking at the Eagle flight quivers, but just had the reservation about noise.

I also have an EF quiver on my Stinger LB.  I have the Navaho Exotic with the totem option.  I really like it alot.  The totem keeps the hood and gripper from creeping up your limb.  It's a very well made quiver.  i think you'll like it.

BobW, that is an awfully long shaft, but you should be able to shoot a bow without them rattling or whatever. The key would be to have the arrow gripper at the right point on the shafts. If there is to much shaft on the outside of the gripper, it's possible to get some fletch noise.

A short riser would make it more challenging. However, if you look at my aviator, I'm shooting a short risered Saluki horsebow with full length Gold Tip shafts. There was no noise coming from the arrows on the bow.

I'll second the Eagle's Flight quiver. I have one on my 46# Kanati and I love it! It is light and quiet. I don't think you can go wrong with one.
