Try-before-you-buy bow trades?

Does anybody have experience with this?  How did you handle the logistics?  Thanks for any experiences, ideas or suggestions.

When I sell or trade for a bow I always let the person know if they are not satisfied with the bow (for a legitamate reason)I will return their bow or refund their money they are only out the return shipping charge.

If you can't trust each other enough to ship out at the same time, then perhaps you need to find someone else to trade with. Like all trades/sales/purchases in the classifieds, good communication is key.

I do the same as Tater2.  Haven't had one come back yet, but if it ever happens that will be fine.  Never want a guy to regret buying one from me if it wasn't exactly what he was hoping for.  I may have regretted selling a couple in the past, but that's another story!

I tell them to keep the bow for however long it takes to be sure they are happy with it and then send me the money. I have also given folks a 30 or 90 day money back offer. Then I hang on to their money until the time expires before putting it in the bank or spending it. Most pople are going to know pretty quick. Most of the stuff I sell I ask way less than what it's worth so something major would have to happen before it was returned. Knock on wood...no returns so far. I do like to give people a chance to try and break whatever is it I sold them though.

If i bought a bow form a individual and it was as stated in the ad I dont care if I dont like it i have traded and just becasue maybe I didnt like the grip or how it shot that would be my problem . on the other hand if i got a bow that was advertised as a 50lb bow and it was 56 lbs I would think there may be a problem or if I was told it was straight and the top limb was twisted i would not be happy . but I belive most everyone on trad gang is honest and have not had a bad deal yet .

It's not a trust issue at all.  On a trade, I'm just concerned that if I would want to keep the bow I accquired and the other party decided to pass on my bow and return it to me, I would need to come up with some extra cash beyond what I was originally planning on to complete the deal.  It's the extra cash outlay on my end that I'm trying to avoid if possible.

If I sell you a bow and you don't like it when you get it send it back and I will refund your money. My name is worth more than a few dollars that I make on a sell, and I sure wouldn't want someone talking ugly about me over a deal......stabow

I made a trade with a guy and he didnt like my bow but I liked his,It took me 2 weeks to come up with the money,I sent it out and he sent my bow back when he got it,Thats the deal we made.Like

only thing is when you trade . its supposed to be traded if I trade someone my bow for theres if i dont like what i got its to bad for me I have done gave my word on a trade and thats a final deal to me . unless like i stated earlier theres something wrong that wasnt described like a twisted limb or crack or something like that .

If I sell a bow, it's with the understanding that if the purchaser doesn't like it, he is free to return it in the same condition I sent it to him, for any reason whatsoever. Also, if I trade, I stipulate that if either of us isn't happy with the trade, we trade back.

I have had two come back, one was mismarked as to poundage, and the other guy just didn't like the bow after he got it. Certainly no problem, and I've never had a problem here. All of the guys I have dealt with are honorable men.

I have only encountered one weasel, not on this forum, and I gave him a bow through a friend to find a kid to give it to, and he sold it on x@*+!

I never had a problem with people in this forum.All transactions were great and the folks were very honest.Bows were all what they were advertised .

I bought a Marriah Thermal from Whip with the undersatnding that if I didn't like it I could send it back. I felt this was a great way to buy a used bow, especially as I am new to trad bows. It also reassured me that Whip was honest and ethical in his dealings. This may be one he regrets selling as it did not go back to him and is a not only good looking but a good shooter.
