removing fletch tape
«

I took a shot at a small doe last week and missed cleanly just over her back. She promptly turned, ran right over my arrow, and broke it into three pieces. My turkey feather fletching survived intact and is still tightly stuck to a 6" piece of cedar shaft with fletching tape. I want to try to remove and reuse the feathers. Any suggestions on how to get the tape to release would be appreciated. Thanks dj

Some heat is what you need. I use a small electric heater w/fan on low. I have better luck starting at the front end of the fletch and slowly raising it to let the heat do it's job as I peel backwards. Good luck. ART

I use the fletch tape and have removed fletching quite a few times but not with the intent of reusing the feathers.
I work very gently to not hurt the cresting and they always seem to come off intact. I am sure the heat would work.
Good Luck!
