Ontario Black Bear guide recommendations
« on: November 29, 2009, 01:30:00 PM »
My buddy and I are trying to set up an Ontario bear hunt w traditional equipment.  We found (via internet) a few outfitters that we are looking into.  Neither of us have any other buds w/ experience or recommendations.

In particular, we are looking at;

Gateway North Outfitters
Horwood Lake Lodge
Pickerel Lake Outfitters
Caribou Falls Lodge
Pine Sunset Lodge

I would appreciate any  feedback you may have on any of the above or a nudge in another direction.

Wow Pops.  Those are some big bears at Northern Woods.  Have you been there more than once?

Brian,

Contact Mark Buehrer at Bowhunting Safari Consultants (no cost to you) and ask about quality outfitters. I have been on many BSC recommended bowhunting trips and they all have exceeded expectations.  Mark has never let me down. Make sure he knows your a traditional bowhunter.

Many years ago when I first started to travel to bowhunt I learned the hard way the truth that you really do get what you pay for. Any questions feel free to PM me.

At $800.00 US money, you can't beat em. This was one of the best hunts I've ever been on. No more than 8 hunters in camp at once. 32 max a year. If you take 6, then the whole camp is yours. Accomidations are exceptional too.
