Safe for bow?
« on: December 01, 2009, 03:41:00 PM »
Guys,

I need some way to protect my bow from theft while I am away from home.  My bow is 63" strung and I think it would fit into a tall enough gun safe.  Any downsides to keeping it in a gun safe when not shooting it (maybe moisture, I dunno)?  I'd need to install a peg in the safe towards the top so that I could leave the bow strung or maybe some type of vertical bow holder as to not leave it standing while strung.

Any thoughts on this?  I know the idea might be extreme but other than my house, the bow has become my most valuable possession.

Thanks for yalls input

I would not leave a bow strung if it could be left anywhere if heat could become excessive. It is best to hang a bow by the string on a peg whether strung or unstrung.

Hide it unstrung in the attic under the insulation?
