Good use for broken Axis'/ Beman MFX's

Well, since it's almost turkey season, I got back into making some calls. This led me to finding a good use for any broken Axis/Beman MFX shafts lying around the house; strikers for slate calls. Cut to size, they're 'bout the same diameter as the commercial carbon strikers, and they can really give you some volume...

I been doing that for a couple years. Works really good on rainy days.

Charlie; they're the best calls for turkey IMO. Can always produce a real good sound on 'em...
Jacob; eh, I come from the always save, never waste mindset...
