Question for thin string makers

Well, I finally got myself a flemish string jig.  I want to twist up some of my own thin strings but haven't yet decided which FF string material.

There seem to be a lot of material choices for fast flight strings.  I am leaning towards TS+, D97 or 8125, but would kinda like to hear your thoughts and recommendations.

Also, are there any videos out there that you might recommend for a newbie?  Thanks in advance!

"doing the twist" dvd by chad weaver(LBR).  everything you ever wanted to know.  8125 is in my opinion the best material out there. d-97 a close second.

I have been using D97 for some of my thinner strings.I have been shooting 8 strands D97 on bows up to 58#@28.I also double serve mine,I serve first with .018 No.62 and then serve with .022 diamondback.This combo gives me the nock fit I'm looking for my nocks.I haven't gone any lower then that.D97 costs less then the other FF type materials.I can pick up a 1/4# spool for around $28-29.I plan on trying some 8125 but it costs around $47 for a 1/4# spool.

you can get both of those materials in 1/8# spools.

Barry, I've been building 8 strand D97, loops padded to 16 with Dacron. For serving, I'm using .030 Halo and laying 2 strands of D97 under it for proper nock fit (with my Axis arrows).

This will help with your "recipe". Getting the proper serving size for your nocks can be the hard part.

I don't think you will find a huge difference in the different FF materials. D97 seems to work great for me.

AkDan, thanks buddy, I'm from West TN, thought I was just having another "du" moment.  LOL.

Folks, I ordered the "Doing the Twist" video today, along with 1/4 roll of TS-1 and a roll of B-50 to pad the loops with.  I also plan to try some D-97 & 8125 in the future.

I have tried a few and have settled on Ultra Cam. It is the replacement for S4 thin and is thiner and stronger than D97 and no where near the creep.

Allen, I have mave a few flimesh strings and have been ok with the 16 strand strings but when I tried to make a thin string whith 8 strands and pad the loops I made a huge mess and gave up. Could You share with me how You do it any help would be appreciaed.
