Hi,
Would anyone be willing to share, without any pejorative insinuation, how do you like to go about setting up a recurve with a center cut riser?
Specifically, I'm trying to build up the shelf so that the arrows I'm using are closer to center shot. This would be analogous to a button adjustment on a target bow. Right now if I pay attention to the arrow point it's at about 4 o'clock at 20 meters to hit the bull. I anchor at the corner of my mouth with my middle finger, 1 over 2 under.
The arrows are cedar with 160 gr field points on them. They fly straight and appear quite stable. They're old, but I'd rather stay with these until I break the rest of them, so I've been using adhesive furniture felt circles to adjust the arrow distance from the side of the riser, with limited success.
Has anyone any method or rules of thumb for doing this kind of thing? Should I even care? Is it just parallax that I'm getting bent out of shape about? Currently there is no method to my madness.
Thank you,
-D
