Ron Fox Bows?
« on: December 12, 2009, 09:40:00 AM »
I have spent the last few years collecting bows made by Ron Fox ,The founder of Fox Bows .
I am curious to know if there is a model made by Ron That I wasn't aware of.
I currently own
Breed recurve
High Sierra recurve
Wrangler Recurve
2 Longbows
And soon a Maverick recurve
Now is there any others out there that I have missed , info is hard to come by in Australia so any help is appreciated.

Have you tried writing or contacting Ron King who worked with Mr. Fox and now runs the business?

I am quite certain the breed and the HS 3 piece is Ron king's creation and not Ron Fox's. When Ron Fox owned it and Ron King worked for him they only made long bows
I own a breed , a high sierra and 2 royal crowns

Hey Littlebigman, I have a good friend with a recurve he ordered from Fox Archery in the mid-90's.  Of course, it could have been a creation of Ron King, but Mr. Fox delivered it to him at the PBS meeting here in Seattle.

Ron King is a great guy and I'm sure he would be more than happy to give you the info you need.  I talk to him just a couple weeks ago with a question about what strings he used and we talked for 15 to 20 min. just like we were old friends.
If you don't feel like you whan to call just e-mail him and he can answer when he gets to it.

Thanks guys , I will give him a call , All the bows I have all have Custom made by Ron fox and were made in the 1990's. I would love to see what he could do with the modern bow making materials.

Hi all , I have added a one piece longbow to the collection since this post. started after talking to a local bowyer I found out he had personally bought a high sierra and T/D Longbow fron ron fox at a big archery show he attended in the states when he was over there during the early 1990's. After a bit of investigation it turned out that I now owned both the bows he had bought back to australia from that trip.
HMMM I wonder what else is around???

I have a 60" longbow crafted by Ron Fox and it is a great shooting bow. I've never seen antler limb tips so tiny.

I am shooting a 60" Ron Fox longbow Juniper veneers with antler tips.  I've owned another Fox longbow and a Breed made by Ron King as well. Superb Workmanship!!
