LE Utah elk????
« on: December 19, 2009, 05:26:00 PM »
I have 8pts for LE elk in Utah. Looking at the odds I could possibly draw this year depending on the unit.
I have a great friend who introduced me to traditional archery that wants to accompany me on this hunt. He is in his 70's and in great shape. So, if there is anyone who has hunted Mt.Dutton, Beaver, Fishlake, or any other unit and would like to pass along a recommendation I would really appreciate it. We would probably truck camp as base camp. Hunting from there back in 3-4 miles. If we found an area we liked back  we would then bivy hunt from there. Thanks, David

Snag,  My ex-inlaws have/had a cabin on Fishlake.  I know they were successful every year in that area - both bow and gun. Never hunted it myself but know that is a good area.

I had a great hunt there last year for LE bull tag. i don't know what part of the state you will hunt in but I was in the south central area. I hope to get back next year to hunt on the spike/cow tag.
