Where are they're ranches located? How many of you have hunted with Curtis? I know he's a sponsor so it must be a great place, but what should I expect?   :help:

Never had the chance to hunt with 7Th Age yet, But I'm wanting to. Curtis is a great guy and I have never heard anything bad about him or the ranches.

Mostly Located in the Trans-Peacos area of Tejas.
Dry and Hot is the Summer months and wet, cold and sometimes down right nice every other time of the Year.

Others that have been hunting with CK/7Th will chime in soon.

Lots of good reviews on Curtis and his operation. I'm due to meet him and hunt West Texas next month and CAN'T WAIT!!

I've got a new Black Widow to break for the trip thanks to my wonderful wife.

I did a hunt with Curtis in October and posted a pretty extensive web page covering the whole thing, from finding out about the hunt in the first place to building a bow for it, preparation and packing/shipping (made some errors there) and each day of the four day hunt.   The material is posted at:

 http://oldpharttsarchery.com/shooting-adventures/bigbadwolf/bigbadwolf.html

It's in linked sections, so you can skip the bow building and getting ready stuff and go straight to the hunt if you want.

Wonderful experience.

I've hunted with Curtis a couple of times & he's THE best in the business, as far as I'm concerned. I'll be hunting with him again next year too (You listening Curtis?!  :D )
The property he has is in West Texas, just outside of Odessa. It's about the size of Indiana & is LOADED with hogs & javies.
If there's a fella knows more about hunting either of these critters, I've not heard of him.

You can expect a good, knowlegeable guiding service (If you need or wish for one) or if you have sufficient experience & common sense he'll back off & let you hunt how YOU want to hunt, WHERE you want to hunt. He pre-scouts the areas he'll have designated for your particular hunt (He rests areas of the ranch & works in rotation, so the pressure never gets too intense) & if I remember correctly he'll also start pre-corning the area.
Curtis is one of those rare guides who'll work around you, rather than bending you to his will.
Don't go expecting luxury accomodations/cable TV/turndown service. It's basic, primitive lodging but to be honest, y'ain't gonna be spending that much time in it anyway unless you're sleeping! The campfire at Curtis's hunts is one of the finest places to learn about hog hunting, if you keep your ears open!

Thanks guys! I'm humbled!

Rob pretty much nailed down my techniques and the way I like to offer up a hunt, the way YOU want it! CK

He does seem to be accident prone lately so take that into consideration... if he says, "hey! Watch this!!"  Get clear quick!
