Yep. Backing the bow with something like sinew or shortening it a couple of inches will increase the weight. However, given your long draw length, shortening probably isn't a good idea. Also, if the lower limb already has a hinge in it, sort of an angle not a curve, where it bends coming off the riser, it means the lower limb has been overstressed and will likely break before too long. Regarding the string follow, almost all wood bows follow the string an inch or two or more. Sorry the prognosis couldn't be more positive.
