Since most of us benefit from knowing what different types of wood looks like, I was wondering iv you've ever heard of this site?

 http://www.hobbithouseinc.com/personal/woodpics/

They don't sell anything, and the page layout is very basic, but it has a tremendous amount of pictures of different woods, and of the variations in each woodtype! 700 different woods, total 20k pictures.

I hope the posting of this link isn't illegal, and If so, I will remove it at once!
I just think it might be helpful to those who are purchasing new bows (or old) or maybe make wood products..

Anyways, enjoy it   :)

That is a great link Svein - I have used it often.  Here is another that I have used that doesn't have as good of pictures, but it does list the specific gravity of each species.  This gives you a good idea of how heavy a riser might be if made of that particular wood.

Great site!!  I used it and a few others to determine the woods I wanted in my new bow.

Thanks Whip!
Specific Gravity was the thing that was missing from my link  :)  Teamwork FTW!
