swaged aluminum shafts
«

Does anyone know what it would take to get set up to swage shafts? I know RJR used to do this and everyone seemed to love their product. Do you think they still have the tools? If not, where would a person start?
Thanks.

I get mine swagged from Mike's Archery out of Ironton, Ohio. Real pleased with his work and his prices are decent.

I have been wondering myself what ever happened to RJ's archery out of montana. I had good luck with his shafts. Alot of guys say they are garbage but it was not my experience.. I still get them from the Footed Shaft in minnestoa. I know some are hammer forged and some are spin forged. Word is spin forged is weaker. Who knows.

RJ's had the hammer forged. I really liked the ones that I got from Them. He was very willing to help with getting you set up.

Where did you get your swager Sergio? That's what I intended as the point of my post--but after re-reading it I don't think I stated it very clearly.
What type of tool is used to make hammer forged shafts? Surely there are some still laying around (i.e. RJ Archery had one).
Another reason I'm interested in this is that I'm very fond of open-throat nocks and alum shafts with swaged nock ends are getting less and less in supply. I think a person could also swage the nock end if they had to.
Thanks.

I bought my spin forming setup from Vics archery near Grand Rapids Mi.about 20 years ago.He went out of business a few years ago. It does a good job,but I think the ones from RJ archery were a little bit stronger. Bob
