Anyone tried extra hit inserts

I was just wondering if anyone has tried adding an additional one or two hit inserts behind the normal hit insert to increase the dynamic spine of an arrow and what the results were.  With my MA III that is 75 pound at 29.5, I can only put 175 grain tips on 29.5 inch 300 spine arrows and I'd like a little longer arrow with a little more FOC.  I think I am stuck with my release, since alot of folks seem to get away with lighter spined arrows than I can.

Yas I have it does work.I've hade better results using a wooden dowel of varying length.I would not change my release to accomadate an arrow I would deffinatly change your setup to were you need it.If you need more point weight get some steel adaptors of various sizes,& different weight glue on field points tou can come up with all sorts of combos by mixing and mathig.That should lenghten the arrow and bump FOC

I tried 2 100gr inserts in some Beman MFX shafts I had to see if I could get the shaft length down and increase weight, but it still came out too stiff.  I can shoot a 30in 400 shaft with 100gr insert and 125gr tip and spines perfectly off my 54# and 56# SA's at 27in but cutting down the 400 to 28in with 200grs of inserts, it was very stiff, guess the length of the insert increased the spine as well in the shaft? I would think anything solid in the shaft would effectively shorten the flexible part of the shaft.  Just like a shorter shaft it would be stiffer.  I see this difference between 50 and 100 gr. brass inserts.  If you want point weight for FOC and stiffness then this would work great.  If you want more point weight and a less stiff shaft stick to heavy points. OR do both to offset and get the same spine plus a lot more point weight.
