Hidden Hunter Blinds

After getting bundled up like the kid on Christmas Story last evening, I walked down the trail to my pop up blind only to find someone needed it more than I did. It was gone and it was on private land. Now I need to replace it, any opinions on the Hidden Hunter Blind that 3Rivers sell. Anyone every use one or have any other good pop up blind opitions ?

I bought a Hidden Hunter blind last year. I had been using Double bull blinds before but when I made the switch to trad a couple years ago, I found that my DB Matrix was a little tight height wise to shoot my bows out of.
I thought I would try the hidden Hunter and it has performed great! I put it up in a field below my house that I had been seeing some nice Tom's strutting this past spring. I put it up one evening when I got home from work and the next day a big storm came through while I was at work. We had wind gusts that day of over 45mph and I thought OMG! there goes my new blind all ripped up and laying who knows where?
I got home and looked out in the field and low and behold it was still standing? When I walked out to inspect the damage I was suprised to find none. It was still just like I had put it up the day before.

I know if that had been my DB blind it would have been knocked down and ended up who knows where? The only thing I wasn't sure about at first was the metal rods that go across the floor like spokes on a wagon wheel from the hub that is in the middle of the floor of the hidden hunter. I thought at first that they would be in the way, but I have a small piece of indoor/outdoor carpet that weighs next to nothing that I put down over the rods and it hasn't been an issue.

It sets up quick and it plenty tall enough for shooting any stickbow.

I like mine (purchase from Ron Laclair - he sells them too) I think he was the first to sell them. They are nice, easy up - easy down

My Hidden Hunter blinds have withstood some pretty high winds, even snow piled on them. If you don't want to leave it out, don't stake it down and you can fold it and put it over your shoulder quicker that you can tell about it.

Man, sorry to hear about your predicament.  I HATE thieves.  

I have two Double Bulls (one in snow camo) but they are tight for longbows, even mine at 62" and 64".  Sent the regular camo one back and had them sew in the two big mesh windows in the one corner to give me a little more latitude to work with on my shots.  It helps, but I still wish the thing was even 6" taller.  I have no experience with the blind you're talking about but it sure looks pretty good in Ron's picture above.

Ron, What camo pattern is the one in your pic?

Looks like woodland to me. I switched just recently to HH from DB. I think set up is a bit easyer. I bought the digitized camo and added some predator style break up to it. Throw in some native brush and you can hunker down for winter in it.

I have shot several deer from it and have used longbows up to 64" ntn without a problem.

Ron, What camo pattern is the one in your pic?  

This one is the Woodland Green, works great in the pines where I hunt a lot. All of the models have loops on the side where the orange band goes when using during gun season, makes a handy place to stick branches for added cammo.

   

The Digital All Terrain  (DAT) works good anywhere.

I used one this past season for antelope. I had some trouble with the blind colapsing in if the wind was up, which is quite often here in WY. I found that if I left windows open on opposite sides it solved this problem. Also all I had to do was bend the poles back out and the blind was fine. I cant my 65in selfbow quite a bit and it was tight on width but height was not an issue. If you shoot like most folks no issues with bow at least 66 inch. All in all I really like this blind and took my first selbow antelope buck out of it. Easy to carry and set-up is as quick as it gets.

Bring that blind along and we will try it on the pigs next year Jack.  Is it tall enough for me to shoot my recurve out of?  My DB us the recurve model.

Dave,Check out  www.Nachez.com  They have blinds that are great and priced great.and the next blind you buy write your name in it (6") letters on all sides so the thief can spend his hunting time feeling a little guilt every time he sits in it.And he cant bring his children in it for they would ask who's name is that.Put a trail camera near ware you put the new one so as to catch the jerk they will always strike twice.

I'm already thinking ahead for pigs this coming season Gene I hope it works out that I can go. I will bring the blind and let you try it, I believe that even with your height while sitting you will have no problems shooting out of this blind. Of course I liked just sitting behind the blind or using it for stalking cover, as we did a year ago.

Are they big enough for 2 people comfortably ?? and the braces on the bottom look like they would get in the way--are they not an issue?  also, does anyone have a pic of one folded up completely and ready to carry, the pic at 3-rivers show a pretty bulky product to carry. Thanks for the answers, I like the looks and the easy setup.

yes two people, the floor braces do not get in the way and I never notice them once set up, it folds once and is shaped like a U - the floor braces go across the top of the U and that is what rests on your shoulder to carry - no back pack little bag of foreign made stuff about it - I would not haul one into the mountains (whatever that is like) but it works for me. Call Ron - he will even answer the phone for you.
