VPA Terminators...... JMO
« on: January 10, 2010, 11:44:00 AM »
I just bought a pack of the 200gr. screw-in model Terminators from Bill at Zipper bows.  Out of the pack they had a decent edge but not what I would consider hunting sharp.  I am horrible at sharpening anything but it was very easy to get these to pop hair with just a few strokes on a flat stone.  They are dead silent in flight and they fly just like my field points, oh and they are built like a tank.  I'm no expert on big game animals but I would not hesitate to shoot anything with fur or feathers with this head.  It's not a professional review, just my opinion, but I know I'll be buying more VPA heads in the future.

Chris, be sure to come over to the K'zoo Expo.  There will be a few of us with the Terminators on display.

I went on a hog hunt in LA over Christmas week. I shot a 145# hog through the shoulder plate got good penetration and it didn't go far. After removing the arrow the broadhead blades were fine but. The threaded part of the head had snaped off. Saying that I would not think twice about uning the heads again. They fly great get wicked sharp and penetrate well.

Kustom King just told me the 1.25" wide models are being discontinued.  I ordered two three packs.

For 2010 they are going to be in my quiver as I try and get all five species of deer in one calendar year, and also flying through the air at our California Bowmen Hunter Broadhead Competition in May.

To say I dig them is an understatement.  Easy to sharpen, tough as H E Double L, and are made right here in the USA.

Yeah, I like them...

I am a big fan as well.Always liked the old woodsman so the VPAs were a great upgrade.Much easier to sharpen since the blades are straight.

i have six of the 300gr vpa screw-in terminators and i agree with ken and zeke - these broadheads are Awesome.  built like a panzer tank, real easy to hone up to razor sharpness (i used a diamond board and then a few passes on an oil stone), and they fly like a field points.

Rob,

Could you post a pic? I would like to see what the 300 gr looks like. All the pics I have seen have been of multiple heads and I cant tell which heads are which.
I am curious how they got to 300 gr with the screw in (where they added metal) and kept the same dut dia.

Thanks,
Brian

I got the 150's a couple of weeks ago but havent tried sharpening them yet, all I do know is that this thing is very solid and flew great with my setup. I cannot wait to get it into something. Ben
