I just use a bow quiver that holds 6 arrows. If I run out I just go begging for some more from 1 of the other 80 or 90 people I am hunting with!! Shawn
Slight sidetrack, but how on earth do you expect to shoot a bow while belly crawling (backwards and upside down, uphill both ways)?

Don't get me wrong - that hunt sounds like a blast but if the bushes are going to grab you, turn you upside down and shake arrows from your back quiver, that's some tough hunting! [/b]
You usually can't shoot when diving to the thick stuff, but the standers on the other side hopefully can. essentially we are the beagles. This is the thickest, nastiest, thorniest brush I have ever hunted. it will scatch bows, steal arrows, shred clothes and drain your blood..........but there are tons of rabbits in it!

You bet it's tuff hunting!  Wouldn't have it any other way!

It's not long before we separate the the "hunters", from the "spirit walker"....some guys simply don't have what it takes to hunt bunny's with us...seriously...

I wouldn't use anything but a bow quiver...anything hanging off, just makes it harder to get thru the briars...

You been watching me Keith?????

The guys that have experience at Shawn's know, backquivers don't work well there if you are hunting hard.........I learned that at Shawn's first hunt......

"Spirit Walker" ya say! Now ya make me feel like a freeloader cause I don't get my own blood all over my self.........   ;)

Those of you that have never jumped on a wild rose tangle to get a bunny out have no idea of what "blood and guts" means. It's our blood and the bunnies guts!     See... I'm so short I can walk under all that stuff and not get a scratch.

I have a leather quiver like the PVC ones mentioned above that woks pretty well, i can carry it under my arm and get through the brush. The first day last year i tried a back quiver and it did not work out well at all.

Last year at Shawn's I used my arrowmaster this year I hope to have a couple made of pvc for Joe and I. The arrowmaster  made it through but I don't want to press my luck, I aint no spirit walker, I mean business when i hit the brush and thorns    Shawn's place is as tough as it gets on personnel and equipment.

bunny hunting with curtis and charlie during the texas mod melt showed me i needed lots of arras!  them wabbits run like heck into the thorns where no man dares to go, dragging yer broadhead with 'em! curtis skewered a rabbit from butt to chest with a broadhead and it RAN a good 30 yards and disappeared into thorn city.

next time i'll use my safari tuff quiver - loaded to the brim with ammo!  :D

Usually when bashing my way through he brush I carry an arrow with my bow sometimes it will open up and sometimes a rabbit will stop in front of you and if you are lucky you can nock and shoot!

Mike you have a thorn proof hat you say?  Bet it'll be hanging on the first bush you bust through and you'll be going back for it.  I'm thinking metal helmet would be more appropriate next time!!!  :biglaugh:

Hey Charlie... Follow this one...

I lined my hat with heavy 10oz leather on top and around the sides. I'd say it's thorn proof... Anyway. I call David over (who dosen't know about my hat) while we are hanging around Shawns house. "How are ya David? Have you got a knife?" As a good buddy, David hands me his bunny guttin' knife.

"This looks scary sharp David", I say in a serious tone as (he) looks on to see what I need the knife for..... Then I bark out with a smile- "Watch This!" and stab myself in the top of the head!

I thought David was gonna pass out right there! Guess ya had to be there cause it was about as funny as a screen door on a submarine. * Don't Try This At Home Kids! *
