I shot an 8 point a few years back that wasn't acting right. Once I found him and rolled him over to dress I counld see his neck skin still moving. He had been fighting and took a horn thru the neck and the blow flys had gotten in there and layed eggs. The poor guy was being eaten alive by maggots. I still think about that one sometimes....yaahhk!

Shot a small basket racked buck a few years ago, he let me stalk within 10-15 yds of him, shot a magnus 4-blade through both lungs and he just stood there. I walked away and watched him for about 5 minutes, then he got wobbly and fell down, waited a couple of more minutes and walked up and grabbed his antler, it and a chunk of skull popped off in my hand. puss leaked out around the pedicle, looked like he had been hit by a car, and had two other broadhead wounds, deer smelled awful, the carcass was left for the animals. Amazing how tuff these animals are.

My friend was telling me a story about his dad hitting a doe on the road.  They called the cops, got the permit and took it home.  While gutting it in the barn, out came the fetal fawn.  They were both pretty disgusted.  Anyway, they processed the doe and put the meat in the freezer, but anytime they considered eating some of the venison, the image of the fawn dropping out made them decide not to.  They eventually just threw the meat out knowing that they were not gonna eat it.
