Elk Chronicles - Trad on TV
« on: January 14, 2010, 07:49:00 PM »
I apologize if this has been posted already if so please delete.

Elk Chronicles on the Outdoor Channel has a nice elk hunt with Jason Hairston of Sitka Gear.  Pretty cool show. Looks like he's using a Blacktail recurve.  A bummer ending, but still a good show.

I've never quite seen a person draw like that.   Kind of interesting to me.

It'll be on again Friday at 230am or Sunday at 4pm.

I watched that yesterday. You are right, the ending was kind of a bummer, but at least it was real hunting with a recurve. His drawing style reminded me of an old song, the 'Hesitation Blues".

His draw style hides excessive movement from the animal.  I wonder what it cost to hunt that ranch?

You have to pay for the Outdoor Channel on DirecTV, so I don't get that one...I did, but cancelled it.  They have Pursuit and Sportsman's Channel as part of the service.  What's a DVR...do you need vaccinated for that?   8^).
