John3, not sure how to answer this one. I've stuck judos into trees before, just not very deep. I designed the Talon so the rear of the blade is really wide for just that reason, easy arrow removal when stump shooting. It is basically a pyramid with concave tip and scalloped sides.
Jason, good point. I've taken four raccoons with a Talon. I do, however, sharpen them on a stone before I hunt with them. I don't think this would be necessary on smaller small game, but it is critical on coons and nutria. The diameter of the head is 3/4" and the blades sharpen pretty well.
