Depending on what size alluminum arrow you are shooting you can still use pistol brass just glued over the shaft.  I did this for my kids and fishing arrows when they where little just glued fish point over 2018 they fit great and worked without issue

I really like snub nosed Wensel Woodsmen...and if I'm using a back quiver I angle off the back corner 45 degrees so they come out of the back quiver easier.  I also like to use old Bheads.

Gotta say....I like the looks of those Talons for sure...and will order some of them soon.

I'm having a lot of skwerl & bunny success using the Hammers from 3-Rivers. Failing that I like the old bodkin 3-blade head with the nose snubbed off.

The Talons look deadly. Will they stick up out of reach in a tree?

My reason for using Judo heads is because they will not stick up high off the ground.

John3, not sure how to answer this one.  I've stuck judos into trees before, just not very deep.  I designed the Talon so the rear of the blade is really wide for just that reason, easy arrow removal when stump shooting.  It is basically a pyramid with concave tip and scalloped sides.

Jason, good point.  I've taken four raccoons with a Talon.  I do, however, sharpen them on a stone before I hunt with them.  I don't think this would be necessary on smaller small game, but it is critical on coons and nutria.  The diameter of the head is 3/4" and the blades sharpen pretty well.

 Any word on the glue on heads yet? I am hoping to try some on bunnies before our season ends the end of Feb.

Brian, just got off the phone with the machinist.  He's telling me the 15th of Feb.  :(   Thought he would have the design and weight down correctly before that, but didn't hit right on the weight and now has another part he has to run that will tie up the machine for a while.  Here is a pic of the one proto-type he turned out that was too heavy.  I'll keep ya'll posted.

The prototype looks effective to me Stan!

I would definitely be willing to field-test it for you.

What is too heavy?  Are you willing to part with the prototype?

Hate to badmouth a product, but I would NOT buy another G5 small game head.  They cost $10 a piece and the edges break off of them easily.

I like the Ace hex heads, but will have to try the Talons soon.

The only problem I have is this, I have a kwikie quiver on my bow and I can't get a head to set in the grippers without destroying the hood. I don't know about the talons, they may be tappered enough to fit. ?  Jason

Ace Hexheads (1.60/ea)used to be my favorite, but I've found the Hammerheads (2.00 ea) to be more durable and retain their edge better.
I really like the looks of Stan's mean heads, but 5.00 ea is a little past my breaking point for bludgeons.

Covey, I don't find any problems with these heads going into my Selway quiver.  The taper is sufficient that it fits into the slots where my three blade broadheads fit.

Shooty1, sorry about that.  I really am looking for a way to get these made cheaper while staying in the States.  I understand exactly what you're saying.

Shinken, the proto-type weighs 205 grains.  I don't think I'll part with this one.  I'm working with the machinist on a way to offer mulitple weights without the need to machine multiple heads.  Hopefully, we'll come up with something you find useful.  Thanks,

I've not found that to be true. I bought just one of those heads to try last Summer. I've shot it hundreds of times and taken a dozen squirrels or more with just the one head. I've hit rocks, stumps, trees, etc. with no ill effects. I just bought three more in a pack from Bass Pro for 21 bucks total and that works out to be 7 bucks each. They're the best small game head I've tried thus far and they don't get lost under the leaves either.

I'm curious to know what you hit to break the head.
