HILLARIOUS turkey hunting story
« on: April 17, 2007, 03:30:00 PM »
Let me set it up first. Yesterday as I was driving I called my buddy George Nagel (Ol 46 here on tradgang). When I asked what he was doing he said he was driving thru Iowa on the way to Kansas to go turkey hunting. We BS'd a while, then I wished him luck and told him to let me know how he did.

Fast forward to today...I'm driving and my cell phone rings. I see by caller ID that it's George.

Me: "Hey George, how's it going? Get one?"

George: "How far do you think an arrow attached to a string tracker will go if you forget to take the cap off the string tracker?"

Me: (snickering)  "not too far I would think. How far did it go?"

George: "well not as far as the turkey was"

Me: "What did the turkey do?"

George: "he looked at the arrow laying there on the ground, walked around the side of the blind and jumped on a hen"

Me: "Where are you now?"

George: "I'm still in the blind"

Wait 'till George finds out that we are all laughing WITH him; then I'm sure he could tell us a few Ferret stories!

Ferret,
Might be a new sport.  You could shoot a line out towards the turkey and wait for him to walk over it.  When he does...just snap a loop (half-hitch) down the line and try to snare a foot or head.
---------
"Lemonade?????"  He'll be a little closer to the orchards in Nevada.  Now I understand the move.
