Padded loops
«
on:

I'm new at this and couldn't find an answer with the search button...
Why should skinny flemish strings have padded loops? What happens if you don't pad them?
And while I'm asking dumb questions...Is this right? A 6 strand two bundle flemish string would be made of 3 strands per bundle?
Thanks...

I think it fills the bow string nocks better and distributes the force better. No expert though I just made my first skinny string this afternoon.

loop padding for any string type is to aid in avoiding abrasion and broken string loops.
yes, for a six strand flemish string it could be two bundles of three strands.

I pad my loop end to make them a larger diameter to fill the string grooves better,I feel it spreads the load and helps to make a quieter string.
