Wood arrow spine question

I currently have some 29" Sitka Spruce 23/64 50/55 spine with 125 grain tips that shoot perfect from the bow I ordered them for.

My question is how much spine weight would I need to shoot a 175 grain instead of the 125 grain head from the same bow? I have some Abowyer Brown Bears I would like to try.

Kip, I'd say 60/65 should work but you may have to have them at 30"

I think you should probably only need to go up one spine group unless you are marginal now. I would try 55-60.

I tried to use Stu's calculator but with wood I don't think I'm entering things right. I've used it with success on carbons but I'm doing something wrong with the wood?

Kenneth, I'll try 55/60's (I have some) and work from there. I don't have any 60/65's so I hope they work. I thought 55/60 might be lite?

I'm shooting 55/60 out of my Voodoo 45#@28" and I draw 29".  They are 30" BOP with 190gr. heads.  If the 55/60's are light send me a PM.  I have the test kit from 3R that I've been using for all my bows and I'll send you a 60/65.

Coaster, I agree that you might need to go up 5#-10#, but just for the H of it, try them on your current arrows/shafts as well.  You might be surprised at how well they shoot.  Wood is a lot more forgiving than carbon.  Good luck.

I'm with Orion, that's not much of an increase and there's a real good chance they'll shoot on the shafting you've got.  If not I doubt you'd need to cut more than a quarter inch off them to bring them in.
