Great Northern VS Kohannah
« on: January 30, 2010, 08:20:00 PM »
I am in the process of deciding which will be my next longbow. I have narrowed it down to three really, Great Northern Fireball, Kohannah Fury extreme and a Robertson Primal styk. Can anyone give me some input about any of the three. Thanks.

My brother had a fury and he spoke very highly of the bow. He is a lefty though- last time he let me shoot one of his bows I put an arrow through his garage.    I didnt get to shoot his fury.

The Kohannah bows are one of the best out there for the price.  I have a 3-peice Elite and his original longbow.  I had a 58" fury and the only reason I sold it was because it was too short for my 30" draw.  Bob will stand behind his product and is a joy to deal with.  That Fury is fast and quiet.

They are all excellent brands.  I haven't shot the exact models you're comparing, but I have owned a number of GN Critter Gitters and Robertson mystical, purist and vision longbows.  Though I haven't owned a Kohannah, I have shot a few, can't remember the model.  IMO, it's a very under rated bow.  That is, it's an extremely good bow at a very good price.  If you haven't already done so, you could shoot two out of the three at K-Zoo tomorrow.  Good luck.

A lot of people really like the fireball.  I have shot it, but it just wasn't for me.  I had the Fury Extreme, and it was a great bow.  I shot the standard fury 62" today.  I liked that bow a lot.  Maybe better than the extreme.  Love that grip. I also liked the Dwyer Dauntless for a longer bow.

I have shot all three.  The robertson is more of a traditional design. Less reflex/deflex.  It's very light in the hand and casts an arrow pretty well.  I thought the great northern and the fury extreme were definately faster.  I just bought a kohannah elite up at the show.  It is the fury limb in a take-down.  I dont think you can go wrong with any of the three

I have a GN "boo" longbow that I dearly love and would never part with. Super smooth and absolutely no hand shock. However, I do most of my hunting with a GN fireball. It is super fast, and extremly quiet. Can't go wrong here with either one. But then again, I am a great Northern guy.

I have a 30+" draw, and though I've had stack on some bows,my Kohannah bows are smooth, and dead in the hand. Bob makes an excellent bow regardless of price

I love my Kohannah Fury Extreme, 48#@28.
The grip fits my hand perfectly, it's quick, and super quiet.
Treadways are awesome too, in that same price range.
Haven't shot the other two.
