Very probably just the string sticking in the groove. I have had this problem in the past and a good clean up with alcohol, not rubbing as it has oil in it,of both the string grooves, nock ends and the string itself will probably fix it. I believe its caused by the string wax sticking on the first draw. I've had 2 that just wouldn't go away and it finally drove me so nuts I made a new string and the problem was gone.Hope this helps. Is it a takedown? They will often do that unless you put some wax, felt, etc. on the mating surfaces. Where the limbs and riser meet.

Are you sure it's not your shoulder?
Draw your bow with someone listening to the tip and the hinge area. High pitched noises are sometimes hard to pinpoint, the noise could be coming from the hinge. It could also be the string if some strands are slipping over each other.

Probably nothing to worry about If its on the first draw only.String it up and before you draw it look at the string loops on the front of the bow where the groove is. The string may not be complety seating right and when you draw it the string pops all the way in. .02$

I had a two piece longbow (male/female) that would also make a tic sound on the first draw. It took me forever to locate the source I finally took it apart and used a liberal amount of string wax on the joint. The problem went away. A year later I cleaned the joint of all wax and the noise returned, so I rewaxed, problem solved. Hope this helps.

I'll take a guess that it is the string wax sticking in the groves just as 6 point stated above. I do not use wax when making my flemish strings I also take amonia and wash the braided loops removes all string wax. Only wax string to loop ends.

It still comes into play, there are still two surfaces coming together, right (this isn't a sleeve, its a connexion)? I've seen this on the hinge type of td...friend added a piece of tyvek between the two areas and it went away.
Doubt it is the wax in the strings grooves...since it doesn't really contact them (lb, right?).
Could be the loops seating as stated above, but I'm betting adding a thin sheet of tyvek or some wax to the mating area will eliminate it.

bjk good point on it being a longbow but I have a Wes Wallace L/B that gave me fits till I cleaned up the string and nocks and grooves. It is also true that any mating surfaces can and will make noise.I've also had two bows that made a very faint click when drawn they only did it once though as on the next draw they both broke. One through the accessory bushing in the riser the other at the take down joint on a longbow.Any noise needs to be fixed immediatly!!!! Frank
