United Bow Hunters of Missouri
« on: February 06, 2010, 11:13:00 PM »
Went to the United Bow Hunters of Missouri winter fest with my Grandson today. A very good time was had by all. Met up with a bunch of old friends (some tradgangers)  and talked hunting and shot bows. My Grandson fell in love with a Black Widow longbow and in his 13 year old mine was thinking grandpa should get for him. I told him grandpa’s pockets weren’t deep enough.
Mudd and Butch were in good form peddling their used equipment
Tomorrow I’ll get some pic on here. I’m going to bed      Jerry

I had a great time! There was a crowd around me at all times( fact: I am a crowd all by myself) It was good to visit with old friends and make some new ones. Tradgang was well represented there!

I want to thank Jeff Struberg for being kind enough to bring out his 62" MOAB for me to shoot since because of a winter storm Jim Reynolds wasn't able to make the trip.

I have since talked with Jim and he happen to have on hand a  62" 54@28 bamboo with Bacote/diamondwood riser.

Long story short....my new MOAB will be shipped Monday!

I am also happy to announce that I am now officially a proud member of UBM. Great group of folks with a great record of standing for us bow hunters.

I am one tired but very blessed, happy man!

Thanks Jerry for getting this ball rolling.

God bless,Mudd

I went down to Jeff City only for the day Saturday.  I thought the vendor turnout was better than last year.  Sitting with and hearing whitetail wisdom from Roger Rothaar was more than enough reason to go.  We all had a great time!
I had a schedule conflict and could not stay for dinner and the auction. MISTAKE!  This is the first year I've missed them and it will be the LAST..

We had a good turnout. I believe we had about 30 people over last year at the banquet. Many thanks to all of our vendors,, The Nocking point, Wildhorse Creek bows, JP Enterprises, Cedar Creek taxidermy, Black Widow bows, and all the others I can't remember because I spent all day working registration and other duties. Gret seminars by Roger Rotharr, Mike Yancy, Bryan Simmons , Robert North, and our featured speaker, Robin Parks of AimLow productions.
A great turnout. The auction went very well with close to $3000 raised for Hunt of a Lifetime.
Hope to see more of you next year.

Gray Buffalo, thanks for posting the pics!

This year was to be the year I finally made the event, but the unexpected death of a friend altered my plans.  I appreciate your sharing.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the festival! I hope you all found at least one of the seminars to your liking and bought at least one item from a vendor or the auctions.

I didn't get to shake and howdy as much as I wanted to because I was busy with the seminars but I sure did enjoy getting to see my old friends and make some new ones.

Thanks, Mudd, for rejoining our organization! You're gonna love that MOAB. I've got two of Jim's bows and they are awesome!

Sorry to hear about your loss Tim. Wish we could have got together at the banquet for a bit. It was a good turnout but didn't see as many of the old timers.

Neven, you might have known him.  Retired Officer Steve Clark...his service was Saturday and I was the KCPD speaker representative.  He was only 57 and they still haven't figured out a cause of death.

I killed my first "trad" deer on Steve's land up by Novinger.

Mudd, thanks for the kind words, I would have enjoyed meeting you and a bunch of others I've not had the pleasure of meeting face to face.
